Job Details

Status: Full-Time, Permanent

Location: Burnaby, BC

Pay Range: $40,000-$55,000

 

Job Summary 

The Associate Underwriter, Real Estate provides general administrative support to the Acera Underwriting Team. The associate underwriter is the gatekeeper who ensures all detail is gathered and up to date allowing for outstanding client service.

 

Essential Job Functions  

  • Provides support to our in-house Personal Lines and Commercial Underwriters
  • Process follow up activities, renewals, new business, and cancellations
  • Data entry activities
  • Maintain broker management system, and other relevant systems with client information
  • Ensure compliance with underwriting rules, guidelines, and practices
  • Compare and analyze data from carriers to existing client files to ensure accuracy
  • Preform billing
  • Prepare client document packages

Other general duties may be assigned, directed, or requested

 

Competencies & Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of different insurance wordings
  • Supports a climate where teams want to do their best
  • Adaptable to working effectively as a team or independently with the ability to adjust to tight and changing deadlines and priorities.
  • Ability to maximize efficiencies by leveraging technology, tools resources and information
  • Self-guided learner & solves problems with real solutions
  • Level 1 BC Broker License
  • Working knowledge of insurance document management software
  • Skilled user of Microsoft office - Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint
