We’re seeking a talented Graphic Designer with strong design and communication skills to join our team. In this role, you’ll be an integral part of our design team, bringing both creative flair and strategic insight.

 

You will support our brand, enhance customer experiences, and deliver impactful, tactical design solutions in a fast-paced environment. You'll develop creative strategies, craft compelling content, and use visual storytelling to inform, engage, and drive our communication goals.

 

As a member of our marketing and communications team, you will be a brand champion and key member of our business development team.

LOCATION AND STATUS

  • Calgary AB, Burnaby, BC or Kelowna, BC
  • Full-time, Permanent
  • Eligible for a hybrid working arrangement – currently a minimum of 3 days per week in office

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Infuse creativity into every design project, crafting visual narratives that engage and resonate with our audiences.
  • Generate fresh, innovative ideas for impactful print and digital designs to support the marketing initiatives of departments and programs across Acera Insurance.
  • Create marketing collateral, including brochures, flyers, posters, social media graphics and digital advertisements.
  • Work as part of a multi-functional team to support internal and external initiatives including events, conferences and trade shows.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and writers to prepare submissions, request for proposals and presentations that drive business development.
  • Understand and deliver on project objectives by communicating effectively with clients and stakeholders.
  • Prepare digital designs with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring quality and consistency. This includes creating web graphics, interactive elements, and fillable PDFs.
  • Prepare designs for print ensuring files have appropriate crop, bleed, color modes, and resolution, and monitor the printing process for quality and consistency
  • Edit and retouch photographs to optimize them for digital and print use.
  • Contribute to the evolution of our unified brand strategy and identity.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1-5 years of Graphic Design experience.
  • Post-secondary education in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, Visual Communications Design, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.), and other graphic design software.
  • Expert with the Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel with exceptional understanding of Word formatting and layout.
  • Experience with collaboration tools like Microsoft Teams.
  • Skilled in illustrating, designing and manipulating vector graphics.
  • Knowledge and experience in print production, including paper stocks, finishes, and preparing files for print.
  • Photo and video production / editing experience would be an asset.
