Job Details

Status: Full-Time, Permanent

Location: Calgary, AB

 

Job Purpose:

The Underwriting Analyst offers vital administrative, reporting, and analytical support to enhance decision-making through data utilization from various sources.

 

Essential Job Functions  

  • Manage renewal email inbox and organize client documents

  • Utilize Acera Benefits Excel tool for data import and analysis

  • Conduct annual renewal analysis for group benefit plans

  • Collaborate with leadership to review and discuss renewal analysis findings when necessary

  • Present analysis and recommended rate actions to Employee Benefit Consultants

  • Negotiate renewal rates with insurers

  • Prepare client renewal reports

  • Obtain required reports from carrier sources

  • Analyze premium and claims experience, to identify additional reporting needs

  • Prepare interim reports and provide monthly renewals with commentary

  • Review billing statements monthly to ensure accuracy for completed renewals

  • Working knowledge of insurance document management software

  • Skilled user of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)

  • Completed or willingness to obtain GBA designation within an agreed upon timeframe
