Job Details

Status: Full-Time, Permanent

Location: Kelowna, BC

Pay Range: Acera’s total compensation offerings are based on pay for performance that recognizes exceptional individual and company performance.  The typical hiring range for this position is from $55,000 - $75,000 CAD annually, with a possibility to earn commission; the pay offering is based on location and will vary depending on related education, employee benefits experience, proven knowledge, skills, and internal equity.

 

Job Purpose:

Acera is currently recruiting for a client-focused Employee Benefits Consultant to work with our employee benefits team out of our Kelowna, Hardy office. The Employee Benefits Consultant acts as a trusted advisor, providing strategic guidance and expert recommendations to help clients optimize their benefits offerings and achieve their business objectives.  This individual will collaborate closely with clients, insurance carriers and internal teams to develop and implement innovative solutions.

 

Primary duties include, but not limited to, the following:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, earning trust and confidence as a trusted advisor by acting on what is best for the client
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on benefits related matters, staying current with industry trends and best practices
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' current benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans and wellness initiatives
  • Analyze data and industry trends, identify opportunities for better offerings and cost savings for clients
  • Develop and present solutions tailored to clients unique needs
  • Assist clients with the design, implementation, and education of employee benefits and retirement programs

 

Competencies & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field
  • Life License Qualification Program (LLQP) 
  • 5+ years of experience in employee benefits consulting or related role
  • Strong understanding of employee benefits laws and regulations
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex concepts to diverse audiences
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining successful client relationships
  • Group Benefits Associate (GBA) or Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS)
