Pay Range: $70,000 to $95,000

 

Job Summary


We are currently seeking a motivated and client-focused Branch Leader, Personal & Commercial Insurance to join our team. This unique opportunity is designed for an experienced insurance professional who is eager to grow into a leadership role while expanding their expertise into the commercial insurance space.

 

Initially, the role will focus on providing outstanding client service and insurance expertise, with the intention of transitioning into a Branch Leader position. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of personal and commercial insurance, a passion for client service, and the ability to mentor and guide colleagues as they develop their own expertise.

 

Primary Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To:

  • Recommend and provide Auto, Personal, and Commercial Insurance products to clients.
  • Process renewals, endorsements, cancellations, changes, and service new walk-in & phone-in business.
  • Update and maintain automated forms for new business, endorsements, renewals, and claims.
  • Promote and recommend optimal coverage and additional products available.
  • Collect payments from clients efficiently and in a timely manner.
  • Provide an outstanding client service experience.
  • Review existing client policies and market as necessary.
  • Educate clients on their business risks and insurance coverage.
  • Assist in creating submissions, proposals, and cover notes that highlight our unique approach to mitigating business risk.
  • Monitor client satisfaction by maintaining strong relationships and tracking service commitments.
  • Advocate for changes and additions to service plans that increase value for clients.

 

Leadership & Team Development Responsibilities:

  • Act as a player/coach, mentoring and guiding team members to exceed client expectations.
  • Train and set client service expectations within the team.
  • Support recruitment, selection, and workforce planning processes.
  • Assess and facilitate training for current and new staff, adjusting based on learning styles.
  • Address difficult situations in a calm, professional manner while maintaining a client-centric approach.
  • Motivate and support team members through performance management and professional development.
  • Actively contribute to Team Leader meetings by sharing ideas and best practices.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive team environment.
  • Communicate achievements and changes effectively within the team.
  • Ensure a fair, ethical, and professional workplace culture.

 

Competencies & Qualifications:

  • Level 2 BC General Insurance License.
  • Minimum 5 years of insurance experience (Auto, Personal, and Commercial).
  • Strong knowledge of ICBC Autoplan and the ability to complete transactions.
  • Working knowledge of insurance document management software.
  • Proven ability to deliver an exceptional client service experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure.
  • A positive influence with the ability to mentor and guide team members.
  • Demonstrated leadership potential and commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Ability to maximize efficiencies by leveraging technology, tools, resources, and information.
