Job Status

Status: Full-Time, permanent

Location: Surrey, BC

Compensation: Acera’s total compensation offerings are based on pay for performance that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance.  The typical hiring range for this position is from $50,000 – $70,000 CAD annually; the pay offering is based on location and will vary depending on related insurance experience, knowledge, skills, and internal equity. 

 

Job Summary

Janzen Insurance, now part of Acera Insurance, is looking for an ambitious, engaging experienced Insurance Advisor to join our team. The successful candidate will advise, explain, promote, and sell commercial (40%), personal line (30%), and auto (30%) insurance policies to ensure our clients are correctly insured. You will also be responsible for entering information into insurance portals, as well as producing certificates of insurance, schedules, claims reporting and maintaining file documentation.

 

Essential Job Functions

Primary duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Creates & executes client service plans, service deliveries, ensuring commitments are tracked and reported in a unified and meaningful way to the client
  • Fields client communication via snail mail, email, phone and/or face to face and identifies clients’ insurance requirements
  • Creates submissions, proposals and cover notes for clients and prospective clients that demonstrate Acera’s unique approach to mitigating business risk
  • Educates clients to ensure they understand their business risks and insurance coverage
  • Recommending and implementing clients' auto and personal insurance coverages, premiums and methods of payment as well as reviewing and processing commercial auto and fleet insurance coverages on occasion as required
  • Reviewing private auto policy wordings and associated documents for accuracy, completeness and note and correct any errors
  • Reviewing and processing ICBC and private auto renewals, endorsements, new plate policies and cancellations
  • Updating and maintaining automated forms for new business, endorsements, renewal and claims
  • Thoroughly reviewing claims histories and repayment options
  • Processing transactions in EPIC, ICBC system, autolink and private insurers web portals
  • Develop, maintain and update workflows

 

Qualifications and Soft Skills

  • Level 2 BC General Insurance License
  • 2 or more years of demonstrated Insurance experience
  • Experience with Broker Management Systems, various company portals, Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel and Word
