Client Service Specialist, Adventure Travel 

The Client Service Specialist, Adventure Travel is a confident client service representative with exceptional organizational, client service and communication skills. Responsibilities include assisting Acera’s Travel team to provide exceptional client service by delivering on professional interactions, accurate information and continuously improving client relationships. 

  

LOCATION AND STATUS

Status: Full-Time, Permanent 

Location: Vernon  

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Monitor Travel Insurance quote requests via Insure Vue and respond to new quote requests, build quote and send out through Insure Vue & update when there are rate changes and/or policy changes. 
  • Respond to change requests on current quotes or review terms via phone and email. 
  • Respond to incoming phone calls for information, quotes, interpret policy wording, etc. 
  • Place confirmed and sold quotes with insurance provider.   
  • Weekly quotes follow up, resend quotes where necessary. 
  • Monitor Quotes in-progress for missing or pending information. 
  • Process Premium Refund requests. 
  • Ability to work with seniors and look at alternate travel insurance solutions. 
  • Familiarity with some common medical conditions for snowbirds. 
  • Understand the claim process and emergency assistance process. 
  • Knowledge of coordination and subrogation procedures with provincial health care plans and others travel insurance policies, including Visitors to Canada. 
  • Report claims to TuGo Claims department on phone or email on occasion. 
  • Work with claimants requiring claim forms, instructions, follow up, etc. 
  • Train with insurer on policy wording and sales platform. 

  

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Licensed in BC and ability to be licensed in Alberta, Ontario and Yukon. 
  • Understand adventure activities and terms – Heli ski, cat ski, backcountry touring, via ferrata, mountaineering, rock climbing, slack country, back country, side country, etc. 
  • Understand backcountry rescue, search and rescue, back country lodge operation challenges, locations, etc. 
  • Excellent communication, problem solving and highly organized and detail oriented 
  • Dedicated team player with the ability to take the initiative, be independent with a positive attitude and dedication to quality and accuracy 
  • Must be a quick learner with a demonstrated ability to work in a self-managed manner 
  • Creative thinker with ideas that will drive efficiency and improve team performance 
  • A good understanding of personal computers and software, particularly MS Office Suite 
  • Knowledge of EPIC including the ability to search, update client files and create invoices. 
  • Knowledge of Insure Vue would be an asset but not required.

The typical hiring range for this position is from $55,000 - $65,000 CAD annually; the pay offering is based on location and will vary depending on related education, insurance experience, proven knowledge, skills, and internal equity.
