ASSOCIATE UNDERWRITER

 

Acera is looking for an ambitious, engaging experienced Associate Underwriter to be join our team.

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and distribute tasks to the team through our broker management system;
  • Assist in the management of renewal lists and information trackers;
  • Process new business, renewal, endorsement and cancellation documents;
  • Transact premiums and reconcile accounting discrepancies;
  • Ensure compliance with lloyd’s underwriting guidelines;
  • Request and follow up for risk information on behalf of the underwriters;
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of contracts, forms, wordings, and company products;
  • Work to ensure an exceptional internal client experience;
  • Provide support during colleagues' absences and during busy periods;
  • Participate in learning opportunities to develop skills and knowledge;
  • Set up meeting agendas and take detailed minutes of team meetings as required;
  • Create and send underwriting team updates to sales and broking teams as required;
  • All other miscellaneous duties and special projects as required.


LOCATION AND STATUS:

Victoria, BC

Permanent full-time employment (35 hrs/week)

Hours: 9am - 5pm

$45K-$55K per year

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Efficiency in the microsoft office suite; especially excel is required;
  • Experience with insurance document management software is considered an asset;
  • CIP or CAIB designation, or working towards is considered an asset;
  • 1 – 3 years commercial insurance experience considered an asset;
  • Previous administrative experience considered an asset;
  • Exceptional interdepartmental communication.
